• The Rhode Island State Circle recently awarded the Msgr. Thomas V. Cassidy Memorial Scholarship to two deserving students entering a Catholic High School for the 2010-2011 school year. Both were awarded a $2000 scholarship to the high school of their choice.

  The recipients were Brianna Almonte, an 8th grade graduate of St. Mary's School, Cranston and entering St. Mary's Bay View Academy, East Providence and Cherie Ueno, a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy School, East Greenwich and entering Prout Memorial High School, Wakefield. The recipients were congratulated and presented a certificate by State Regent, Shirley A. Mello and were guests at the luncheon during the off-year meeting of the State Circle.
